HHM CPAs Promotes Two to Partner

HHM CPAs proudly announces the promotion of two partners in its Chattanooga and Cleveland offices. The professionals, Blake Bennett and Weston Porter, join the firm’s leadership team, bringing the total number of partners to 23.

“HHM is honored to admit these two talented individuals to partnership at our office,” said Donnie Hutcherson, Managing Partner. “Both professionals have continued to demonstrate their commitment to the firm and individual talents over the past decade. Blake has proven his depth of tax knowledge year after year, being a vital resource to our tax department. Weston has been an integral part of our audit department, successfully leading audit teams for various industries. I have no doubt they will continue to help our firm provide superior client service as well as embrace their leadership roles within the firm.”

Blake Bennett, CPA, joined HHM CPAs in 2011 after graduating from Lee University and works in the Chattanooga office. He reviews tax returns and studies tax law changes to provide tax consulting for complex business organizations and their owners. In addition, Bennett leads the firm’s construction cost segregation team, completing analyses of new construction sites or newly acquired facilities to increase cash flow for his clients. His experience includes analyses of various facilities in industries including manufacturing, automotive, and retail. When performing cost segregation studies, Blake looks for opportunities to increase cash flows by identifying allowable tax credits and leveraging green tax incentives. Bennett is a member of the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Chattanooga Tax Practitioners.

Weston Porter, CPA, joined HHM in 2012 after completing his education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and works in the Cleveland office. He provides audit services to governmental, non-profit, construction, and manufacturing clients, in addition to local and regional trade contractor unions. Porter executes a wide array of tasks from leading and planning audits, reviews and compilations, to field work and financial statement preparation. In addition to his audit responsibilities, he is involved in HHM’s tax practice. His tax experience includes solving complex tax issues and preparing state and federal tax documents for nonprofit, construction, real estate, manufacturing and individual clients. He serves as the treasurer of the Chattanooga Autism Center and is a member of Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.

This internal promotion of two new partners comes after the firm was named a Top 100 Accounting Firm by Inside Public Accounting (IPA), ranking at number 94.
